The Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point
The Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias rounded it in 1487 and first called it the Cape of Storms. It is not Africa’s southernmost point, Cape Agulhas, 150 km to the east-south-east: it belongs to Table Mountain National Park, with Cape Point.
