Sossusvlei and Deadvlei

In the southern Namib Desert, Sossusvlei is a salt and clay pan ringed by high red dunes; its name roughly means “dead-end marsh”. Nearby, Deadvlei is a white clay pan between the dunes of Namib-Naukluft Park.
